Georgia O'Keefe Paintings
In eighth grade we discussed and studied Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. Students chose an image from nature of their choice using technology to zoom in on specific areas. Students then learned about color theory such as the primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors, tints, tones, and shades. Students practiced inventing their own colors as well. Students then used Gesso and tempera paints to create their painting. At the end students were able to paint their own hands into their painting representing the effect man has upon nature today.
